Villa Madu is our newest addition to the Mentawai villas. It’s located between Lance’s Right and The Point surf breaks. The villa has three bedrooms and comes complete with a sauna and a fully equipped kitchen. Yes, it’s a self-service villa, similar to the typical private villa concept in Bali. We can also arrange groceries for 5-7 days prior to your arrival, with an additional fee applied.

How do I get to Villa Onu Mentawai?
Here’s a simple step-by-step guide:
- Fly to Padang (PDG) Most guests arrive via Jakarta or Bali
- Stay one night in your Hotel in Padang
- Take Mentawai Fast Ferry: Padang → Mentawai (Tuapejat) Fast Ferry: Runs approx. 3x/week (Mon, Wed, Fri). Check schedule via Instagram @mentawaifast or Flight (Susi Air): 2x/week (Tue, Sat), bookable via Traveloka (usually released 2 weeks in advance)
- Arrival in Tuapejat → Villa Onu
- Car Transfer – We arrange your pickup and transfer directly to the villa, easy and hassle-free.
Tip: We recommend adding our Regular Transfer Service Package for a smooth and easy process, or upgrading to our VIP Transfer Service for maximum convenience—from the moment you land in Padang all the way to Villa Onu.
How far is the surf from the villa?
HT’s is right in front—about a 5-minute paddle. There are 10+ other breaks within a short scooter ride or walking distance.
What if I don't surf at all?
Still completely worth it. Pool, fishing, snorkelling, island walks, cinema room, massage — Villa Onu is as much a luxury island retreat as it is a surf destination.
Do I need a boat to surf?
No. Most nearby breaks are easily accessible by scooter or paddle. No need to rely on boat schedules. But we can provide a speedboat to further destinations such as Macronis with additional charges.
Is the villa suitable for beginners?
The area is best suited for intermediate to advanced surfers, but there are some more forgiving waves nearby depending on conditions.
Do you have a generator in case of power cuts?
Yes, we have two large generators to ensure uninterrupted power during outages, something not all surf camps or other villas provide.
Do I need to bring cash?
Yes. There are no ATMs nearby, and most small services (ding repair, small purchases) are cash only.
Are kids allowed?
Yes, families are welcome. However, due to reef breaks and ocean conditions, supervision is important at all times. Babysitting can be arranged at an additional cost.
Is the speedboat included in the package?
Not included for Room Rate bookings. It is included when you book the Entire Private Villa. For Room Rate, a private speedboat can be arranged at an additional cost and shared with other guests. Most nearby surf spots are accessible by scooter or within walking distance.
If I book the Room Only package, can I dine at the villa?
Yes, you can dine at the villa—just please let us know 2–4 hours in advance.
