Villa Onu Mentawai is a five bedroom private villa on the beach at Katiet, South Sipora, with the righthand barrel of Lance’s Right, HT’s breaking at the end of the garden.
There is an infinity pool, a chef who cooks for your table only, a surf guide who reads the tide for your group, and nobody else’s schedule to work around. Most people arrive for the wave. They leave talking about the chef, the pool at four in the afternoon, the boat days, the sunrise from the terrace — and the people who looked after them.

Villa Onu Mentawai has one kitchen and it cooks for one table yours.
The chef builds the menu around the morning’s catch, the garden and what your group actually likes: grilled fish and sambal one night, a long pasta after a big session, pancakes for the kids at six. Tell us about allergies and preferences before you arrive and they are simply handled. Dinner is under the thatch, or on the terrace when the sunset is doing its thing.

How do I get to Villa Onu Mentawai?
Fly to Padang (PDG), stay one night (we arrange it), take the Mentawai Fast Ferry to Tuapejat Harbor on Sipora Island (about 3.5 hours; Mon, Wed, Fri, Sun) or Susi Air to Rokot (Tue, Sat), then a private air-conditioned car or minibus of about 2.5 hours to the villa at Katiet. Every leg is arranged for you.
Which days does the ferry run?
The Mentawai Fast Ferry runs Padang ⇄ Tuapejat on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. Align your check-in and check-out with these days — we’ll help you plan it.
What is included in Full Board?
Three chef-prepared meals a day, the on-site surf guide, daily housekeeping, drinking water, tea and local coffee, and use of the pool, kayaks and SUPs. Soft drinks and alcohol are extra. Room Only is 40% less and comes without meals (you can still eat at the villa on request, with a little notice).
When are high and shoulder season?
High season runs 1 April – 30 September; shoulder season 1 October – 31 March, at lower rates. All rates are per night in USD plus 11% government tax.
Can I book one room, or only the whole villa?
Both. Book a single room in the booking engine, or take the whole villa for up to ten guests. The whole villa is only offered when no individual room is already booked for those dates — so for groups, ask early.
Is Villa Onu suitable for non surfers or beginners?
Yes. HT’s is an advanced wave, but mellower breaks such as Mini HT’s and the beach breaks are close by with the guide, and non-surfers have the pool, beach walks, an in-room massage with a local therapist, fishing, boat days, snorkelling and the village.
Is there Wi-Fi?
Yes — Starlink Wi-Fi and back-up power, so calls and forecasts work even when the island grid does not.
What is the Early Bird 2027 offer?
Book a Full Board stay for dates between 1 February and 20 December 2027 during the promotion period (15 September – 15 December 2026) and get 30% off the whole villa (minimum 7 nights) or 20% off a private room (minimum 5 nights). It is limited to the first 5 whole-villa and first 10 private-room bookings, applied automatically at checkout, and cannot be combined with other offers.
How do payment and cancellation work?
A 30% deposit confirms your dates; the balance is due 45 days before arrival. Cancel 60+ days out for a full refund (less transfer fees); 30–59 days out, your payment becomes credit toward a future stay within 12 months; within 30 days, bookings are non-refundable. Full booking terms ›
