Last light is approaching, the swell’s cooking and you’re still sat at your desk with a deadline approaching, the boss breathing down your neck. Villa Onu Mentawai is looking for a Surf Guide Manager to start in time for the 2024 season. You will be responsible for overseeing daily operations of the villa and getting guests into the best waves Mentawai has to offer. It’s your job to make sure guests leave with lifelong memories and the villa runs smoothly, delivering the highest quality services.

The Role
Position: Surf Guide Manager
Location : Villa Onu Mentawai
When: Start by March 2024
Responsibilities
Surf Guide Leadership: Lead and manage Villa Onu’s team, ensuring high standards of services and safety.
Guest Interaction: Interact with guests, assess their surfing skill levels, and customize surf experiences to meet their expectations.
Daily Operations: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the surf program, including scheduling, equipment management, and safety protocols.
Training and Development: Provide ongoing training and development for surf guides, focusing on improving their skills and ensuring exceptional service delivery.
Safety Compliance: Enforce safety standards and procedures to ensure a secure surfing environment for guests and staff.
Surf Excursion: Plan and execute surf excursions, considering weather conditions, wave forecasts, and guest preferences.
Villa Maintenance: Manage and maintain villa equipment/furniture/boat/stock of food & beverage, petrol – well maintained and checked, ensuring its quality and functionality.
Requirements
Proven Leadership Skills: Previous experience within the surf industry or hospitality industry – min 2 years experience
Surf Expertise: In-depth surfing knowledge, including wave conditions, surf spots, and safety measures.
Customer Service: Strong customer service skills with the ability to create positive and memorable guest experiences.
Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with fluency in English & Bahasa
Team Management: Ability to lead and inspire a team, and raise a positive and collaborative work environment.
Flexibility: Willingness to work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays, based on surf conditions and guest demand.
