The Mentawai Islands
A remote Indonesian archipelago where coconut jungle meets reef and powerful Indian Ocean swells create one of the world’s most legendary surf regions — the Mentawai Islands, home to the main islands of Siberut, Sipora, and North Pagai Island.
5.0 (49 reviews)
The Mentawai Islands sit off West Sumatra, where emerald jungle meets flawless Indian Ocean surf.
A chain of over 70 islands about 150 km off the coast of West Sumatra, the main inhabited islands are Siberut, Sipora, North Pagai and South Pagai. HT’s/Lance’s Right breaks on Sipora, directly infront of Villa Onu.
It’s remote enough to feel private, yet perfectly placed for world-class surf. If you’re dreaming of HT’s (Hollow Trees/Lance’s Right), glassy mornings and white-sand afternoons, you’re in the right place.
